Daily Activities of the General Directorate of Parks and Green Spaces of Herat Municipality

Officials of the General Directorate of Green Spaces of Herat Municipality state that, in order to ensure better maintenance of urban green spaces and preserve the city's beauty, the department’s work teams carry out their daily activities regularly across parks and boulevards throughout the city.

According to the department’s officials, routine activities include sweeping and collecting waste from parks, mowing grass in parks and along boulevards, pruning and shaping trees, cleaning and maintaining irrigation canals in different sections of the parks, and collecting plant seeds for future propagation.

In addition, the daily irrigation of green spaces, preparation of land for the establishment of new nurseries, and the continuous maintenance and protection of parks and boulevards are among the department’s regular responsibilities.

Herat Municipality calls upon all citizens to cooperate in preserving and developing the city’s green spaces by keeping parks clean, preventing damage to green areas, and observing the principles of responsible urban citizenship.
