The head of the Ministry of Urban Development and Land, expressing the special attention of the Government of Afghanistan to preserve Herat's historic monuments, stated that, according to the decree of the President of the country, the Ministry has successfully managed to complete the second phase of the project, including the renovation of the Grand Mosque of the province. Meanwhile, Herat Governor Abdul Qayyum Rahimi said the preservation and restoration of the country's historical monuments, especially in Herat province, were valuable and expressed hope that this would be a start to improve the city's historical sites.
