Establishment of the Commission for Urban Order and Development in the city of Herat
The Commission for Urban Order and Development in Herat has been established under the guidance of the Supreme President of the country, instead of the Commission for Urban Order and the City Coordination Board. To perform their duties within the scope of legal competencies in order to establish order and urban development.
Urban Order Committee, Coordination and Public Relations Committee, Economic Development and Infrastructure Committee, Social Development Committee, Environment Committee (Cleaning and Greenery), Urban Culture and Satisfaction Promotion Committee, as well as Youth, Women and Children Support Committee; There are seven committees, generally composed of Herat local administrations, social, economic and cultural institutions.
This commission, including its working committees, aims to establish, strengthen and systematize cooperation and coordination between the municipality and other active local departments, to ensure performance in accordance with urban and infrastructure plans, to ensure effective implementation of programs and to ensure effective implementation of materials. (37-48) The law of municipalities has been created.
According to the work instructions of this commission; The governor of Herat province, the mayor, the deputy mayor of Herat, the head of the city governorate, the secretary and other social, economic and cultural departments and institutions are members of this commission and meet once a month to manage the city, review the implementation and evaluate the work done.
The servant of Hazrat Mushfaq, the mayor of Herat, states that this commission is obliged to play a role in the following areas:
- Guiding and supporting the municipality to cooperate with relevant departments and the private sector (joint cooperation of the municipality and regional development departments, water supply, urban planning and housing, transport, public utilities, energy and water, telecommunications and environment).
- Reviewing the status of cooperation and coordination between the municipality and other departments regarding revenue collection, services, establishing urban order and promoting urban culture.
- Partnership of work and strategic plans to ensure coordination of programs.
- Partnering the work progress of departments.
- Plan and approve joint activities.
- Preventing uncoordinated and non-standard movements and programs.
- Handling disputes and disputes between departments.
- And other matters of urban management in order to sustainable development of the city ...
The mayor of Herat also added that the commission will receive the work report of the departments regarding urban management, implemented or not, and submit it to the competent authorities.
