Blocking numbers of shops, butchers and bakeries in different parts of the city due to hoarding and non-compliance
Abdul Sami Wafa, head of Herat's municipal government and chairman of the Anti-Hoarding Committee, along with officials from the department's market management department, inspected and monitored the sale of raw materials, several supermarkets, butchers and bakeries along Mostofit, around Malekiar Park. The Central Tank, the Tent of the Tentacles, the Sect to Noabad and Badmorghan were blocked due to lack of trade union licenses, high prices, and poor health.
The head of Herat's municipal government has accused Herat of hoarding, saying that the actions of a number of bakeries and shops in the city are against the law.
Mr. Wafa emphasizes that the municipal administration, and in particular the anti-hoarding committee, has dealt severely with such cases, blocking the shops of violators and revoking their trade union licenses.
The Anti-Hoarding Committee monitors the activities of supermarkets, butchers, bakeries and such guilds on a daily basis and prosecutes violators.
