UN-Habitat: Herat's urban addressing process has been completed

At a meeting with Ghulam Hazrat Mushfiq Herat mayor, officials of the Habitat Institute in the West Zone spoke about the completion of the survey of urban areas and the registration of 3300 displaced families in the council's program.
At the meeting, while presenting the work and activities of the City for All and the Council's programs to the Herat mayor, they considered the impact of the urban addressing process to be valuable, and called on the Herat Municipality leadership to take action to name the towns.
Habitat Institute officials in the West Zone also reminded of the early selection of the top six bystanders who paid most for their municipal services (revenue) through their areas, to implement development projects, and the results of the ongoing work on the construction of the Mostofiat Canal project. They partnered with the mayor of Herat.
Ghulam Hazrat Mushafiq, Herat mayor, described the social and development plans of the partner organizations to help develop the city efficient and useful and to create a working committee consisting of local offices, cultures and civil society to name and address urban areas.
The Mayor of Herat considered the naming of urban places in accordance with the culture, authenticity and identity of the city in the global addressing system a cultural and very important issue and emphasized the mutual understanding of the local authorities and the city's culture in order to complete this process.
