Inauguration and Commencement of the Asphalt Paving and Road Subgrade Project on Kababian Road at a Cost of Approximately AFN 10 Million

The asphalt paving and road subgrade project on Kababian Road, located in District 6 of Herat City, was officially inaugurated and commenced in accordance with the road improvement plan. The project covers a length of 500 meters and a width of 10.5 meters, with a total cost of AFN 9,558,780 funded from the development budget of Herat Municipality.

The project was inaugurated and commenced by Haji Mawlavi Hamdullah Nomani, Mayor of Herat, in the presence of Eng. Mohammad Ayub Saif-ul-Jihad, Director of Technical and Professional Affairs of Herat Municipality, heads of the Mayor’s Office, Monitoring and Evaluation, and District 6, local elders, community representatives, heads of development councils, and a number of relevant officials.

Emphasizing the importance of the project, Herat Municipality officials stated that its implementation aims to improve transportation conditions, facilitate the movement of citizens, and provide local residents with better access to urban routes. They also emphasized maintaining quality and compliance with technical standards throughout the implementation of the project.

Meanwhile, representatives of the contracted company assured that the project would be completed to the required quality standards and within the specified timeframe, in accordance with the technical specifications.

Residents of the area welcomed the commencement of the project, expressing satisfaction and stating that they had faced poor road conditions and significant transportation difficulties for years. They described the commencement of asphalt paving on this route as an important step toward addressing transportation problems and improving urban conditions in the area.

It is worth noting that the project is scheduled to be completed and put into operation within four calendar months by Estekham Bana Construction and Road-Building Company.
