Opening and Inauguration of the Bademorghan Road to Bakrabad Square Drainage Channel Project at a Cost of Approximately AFN 3 Million

The drainage channel construction project along Bademorghan Road to Bakrabad Square, covering the fifth, sixth, and seventh neighborhood blocks of District 3 of Herat City, has been completed at a cost of approximately AFN 3 million from the development budget of Herat Municipality and has been officially opened for public use.

The project, with a total length of 700 meters and a width of 0.6 meters, was officially inaugurated and opened for public use by Haji Mawlawi Hamdullah Nomani, Mayor of Herat, in the presence of Eng. Mohammad Ayub Saif-ul-Jihad, Director of Technical and Professional Affairs of Herat Municipality; officials from the Mayor’s Office and District 3; local elders; neighborhood representatives; heads of local development councils; and a number of residents.

Municipal officials said that the project was implemented to improve surface water management, prevent flooding, and improve road conditions in the area.

Meanwhile, a number of local residents welcomed the completion of the project and said that it would help reduce problems caused by surface water and facilitate transportation.

Officials of Nauman Fatimi Construction Company also stated that the project was completed in accordance with technical standards.

It is worth mentioning that the project was completed within more than two months and has been officially opened for public use.
