Herat Mayor Inaugurates Nearly AFN 8 Million Neighborhood Road and Drainage Project in District 14
The construction of concrete-paved streets, along with drainage channels, in Afzalabad and Hammam Musa neighborhoods of District 14, Herat City, has officially commenced at a total cost of AFN 7,956,695 from the development budget of Herat Municipality.
The project, covering a total length of 1,896 meters and a width of 7 meters, includes reinforced concrete paving and stone masonry drainage channels at various locations in the Afzalabad and Hammam Musa neighborhoods.
The project was officially inaugurated by Haji Mawlavi Hamdullah Nomani, Mayor of Herat, in the presence of Eng. Mohammad Ayub Saif-ul-Jihad, Director of Technical and Professional Affairs, officials from District 14 and the Urban Planning Department, community elders, neighborhood representatives, heads of development councils, and local residents.
Municipal officials stated that the project is being implemented to improve neighborhood streets, facilitate citizens' movement, and ensure better management of surface water.
Representatives of the contracting company assured that the project would be completed in accordance with technical standards and within the specified timeframe.
Meanwhile, residents of Afzalabad and Hammam Musa neighborhoods welcomed the commencement of the project, describing it as an important step toward improving local streets, facilitating transportation, and addressing existing problems.
The project is being implemented by the Mohammad Kabiri Construction and Road Building Company and is scheduled for completion and handover within slightly more than two calendar months.
