Asphalt Paving and Reinforced Concrete Canal Construction Project for Imam Bukhari Alleys 196 and 198 in Herat’s 4th District Commences at a Cost of Approximately AFN 5.5 Million

With the aim of improving road conditions, better management of surface water, facilitating citizens’ movement, and developing urban infrastructure, the asphalt paving and reinforced concrete canal construction project for Imam Bukhari Alleys 196 and 198, located in the 4th District of Herat City, has officially commenced.

The project covers a total length of 510 meters, with a cross-section of 0.6 × 0.4 meters, and is being implemented at a total cost of AFN 5,346,135 from the development budget of Herat Municipality. The project was officially inaugurated and commenced by H.E. Al-Haj Mawlawi Hamdullah Nomani, Mayor of Herat, in the presence of the heads of the 4th District, Mayor’s Office, Monitoring and Evaluation Departments, community elders, Guzar representatives, heads of development councils, and a number of officials from the relevant departments. The project is being implemented by the “Bonyad Bartar” Construction and Road Construction Company.

Officials of the “Bonyad Bartar” Construction and Road Construction Company assured that the project would be completed in accordance with technical standards and the terms of the contract, with the required quality and within the specified timeframe, and would subsequently be handed over for use.

Meanwhile, a number of residents of the Imam Bukhari alleys in the 4th District welcomed the commencement of the project and described it as an effective step toward improving road conditions and urban services.

They expressed hope that upon completion of the project, problems related to transportation and surface water would be reduced and greater facilities would be provided for local residents.

It is worth mentioning that the project is scheduled to be completed and handed over for use within three calendar months.
