Futsal Tournament Final Held Among Herat Municipality Departments and the 15 District Offices

The final match of the internal futsal tournament among the departments of Herat Municipality and the offices of its 15 urban districts was held as part of efforts to promote sports activities and support athletes in municipalities, following the guidance of the General Directorate for Coordination of Municipal Affairs.

Organized by the Cultural and Social Affairs Office of Herat Municipality, the final was played between the Municipality’s General Cleaning Management and the Revenue Office A Team.

The tournament, held in coordination with the Herat Physical Education Directorate at the Mirwais Sadiq Sports Gymnasium, concluded with the General Cleaning Management futsal team securing first place. The Revenue Office A Team finished second, while the Information Technology Office futsal team took third place.

At the closing ceremony, attended by directors, heads of departments and municipal employees, Mawlawi Abdul Ahad Khairkhwah, Director of Urban Governance of Herat Municipality, appreciated the efforts of the Cultural and Social Affairs Office in organizing the tournament. He described sports as an important means of promoting the health and well-being of young people and announced plans for futsal competitions among government institutions, followed by matches between the Herat Municipality selected team and municipal teams from the districts.

Meanwhile, Haji Ghulam Hazrat Amini, Head of the Cultural and Social Affairs Office of Herat Municipality, said that Islam encourages all segments of society, particularly young people, to engage in sports and maintain a healthy lifestyle, while also emphasizing the importance of avoiding drugs and narcotics.

At the end of the program, government officials presented the championship trophy, second- and third-place trophies, medals, and certificates of appreciation to the participating athletes.
